Seasense Boutique Hotel & Spa - Adults only
We chose this hotel for its adults-only design focus: a zen, design-forward interior built to...
On Mauritius's east coast, in the quiet village of Belle Mare, Constance Belle Mare Plage is built around golf in a way few beach resorts attempt: two 18-hole championship courses, Links and Legends, sit on the property itself, each with its own clubhouse and restaurant. Low-rise stucco buildings with thatch roofs spread through gardens of palms, ferns and bamboo, and a lobby built around a large shallow pool sets the tone before guests even reach a room. A mile-long white-sand beach runs the length of the resort, with free water sports filling the hours between tee times. It is a resort for guests who want golf treated as seriously as the beach.
We chose this resort because it commits to golf as a core identity rather than a side amenity: free green fees at both Links and Legends come with the stay, Legends runs free weekly group lessons for beginners, and each course has its own dedicated restaurant, Deer Hunter and Le Swing. The rest of the resort matches that scale rather than feeling like an afterthought, with seven restaurants, six bars, four pools and a mile-long beach offering free motorised and non-motorised water sports. Blue Penny Cellar, the gourmet restaurant, holds close to fifteen thousand bottles of wine, a detail that signals the resort takes its evenings as seriously as its mornings on the course.
Belle Mare stays genuinely quiet, a village with natural scenery and a lagoon suited to water sports rather than a built-up tourist strip, which is part of why the resort is designed to be self-contained. Grand Baie, the island's main tourist town, sits about fifty minutes away, and the airport is roughly seventy minutes by car, a longer transfer than a south-coast resort but a fair trade for the quiet and the two golf courses on site. Local dining options near the resort are limited, which is exactly why the seven restaurants on the property matter.

Links and Legends are full 18-hole championship courses rather than a resort add-on, and both are included in the stay through free green fees and a free shuttle between them. Legends runs free weekly group lessons for beginners through its golf school, lowering the bar for guests who have never played. Each course keeps its own identity down to the restaurant: Deer Hunter sits at Legends, Le Swing at Links, so a round of golf can turn into a full morning or afternoon without a trip back to the main resort.
The room range runs wide: Prestige Rooms start at 484 square feet, Junior Suites extend to 646, and Deluxe Suites reach 1,033, with every category keeping a sea or lagoon view. Eighteen private villas go further still, each with a heated pool and more separation from the main resort traffic, and the five-bedroom Presidential Villa adds two pools of its own for large groups or multigenerational families. A signature detail runs through several categories: peek-a-boo bathrooms with a separate tub positioned to share the same view as the bedroom.
The resort has no elevators, worth noting for guests who need step-free access to upper floors. Local dining options around Belle Mare are limited, so budget for eating on property most nights rather than exploring nearby restaurants. The airport transfer runs about seventy minutes, longer than a south-coast stay, which is the trade-off for the quiet setting and the two courses on site.
